The USPS and APWU affirm that there shall be no discrimination or harassment of any employee based on:

  • Creed
  • Religion
  • National Origin
  • Sex
  • Age
  • Marital Status
  • Physical Disability
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Gender Identity or Expression

What Constitutes Discrimination?

Discrimination can take many forms, including:

  • Unfair treatment in work assignments
  • Denial of opportunities
  • Hostile work environment
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation for reporting discrimination
  • Unequal application of workplace rules
  • Disparate treatment in discipline

How to Report Discrimination

Step 1: Document Everything

  • Record dates, times, and locations of incidents
  • Note names of witnesses
  • Save any relevant documents or communications
  • Keep a detailed log of events

Step 2: Report the Issue

You have multiple channels to report discrimination:

  • Report it to your Union Steward
  • File an EEO complaint
  • Submit a grievance

Step 3: Know Your Rights

You are protected from retaliation for:

  • Filing a complaint
  • Participating in an investigation
  • Supporting another employee’s complaint
  • Speaking up about discrimination
